On Wednesday, Olympique Lyonnais received positive news: their appeal to the DNCG was successful, reversing the earlier decision to relegate them to the second tier. Following the announcement, the club`s new president, Michelle Kang, held a press conference to explain how they managed to avoid demotion to Ligue 2.
The club`s initial encounter with the French football financial regulator had been problematic. Due to concerns over financial management, OL was provisionally relegated. An appeal presented the sole opportunity to overturn this ruling.
As Lyon prepared for the appeal before the DNCG, John Textor resigned as president, and Michelle Kang, who also heads OL Reign, took over the role. Her main objective was to ensure the appeal`s success, which she accomplished alongside General Manager Michael Gerlinger.
Explaining how they managed to reverse the decision, Kang stated, “It concerned the available cash flow, new liquidity contributions, and guarantees in case our cash flow became negative. On these three components, we have met their requirements.”

Após o anúncio, a nova presidente do clube, Michelle Kang, concedeu uma coletiva de imprensa para explicar como conseguiram evitar o rebaixamento para a Ligue 2.
