Spanish champions Barcelona are readying a new-and-improved proposal to sign Julián Alvarez from La Liga rivals Atlético Madrid.
This of course comes fresh off the Argentine himself breathing new life into the saga.
Drawn on the ongoing speculation surrounding his future whilst on international duty early this week, Alvarez for the first time made public his desire to seek out a new challenge for next season:
“I don’t want to hide or act like I don’t want to be clear. I try to be honest. I spoke to Atlético people and I think the best for everyone involved is for me to leave. I want to fulfil my dream.”
These comments have no doubt come as a welcome boost in the boardroom at the aforementioned Barcelona, amid the Blaugrana’s efforts to bring Alvarez to the Camp Nou for next season.
So much so that, according to media sources, Deco and co. are now planning a new offer for the gifted attacker.
As per a report from journalist Alex Pintanel of RAC1, Barca are ready to improve their financial package to Atlético from €100 million to €120 million.
It is also noted, though, that the Catalans have no intention of reaching the €150 mark for Alvarez.
